Riverfun Houseboats

Riverfun Houseboats began in 1986 at our same marina today, here in Paringa! The first houseboat to the fleet was a little 2-4 berth charm, “Riverfun” and within 7 years the fleet was increased to 12 boats. This part of the river was already known as the best part of the Murray and as years went on Riverfun boasted an incredible occupancy rate, due to the original owners travelling intrastate to expos and tourism events spreading the word! (Don’t forget this was before the internet!) Riverfun won the State Bank SA Tourism awards in 1989 and the Riverland Tourism awards in 1991.

After years of travelling from Alice Springs to Renmark for 3 week-long houseboat holidays, we bought Riverfun Houseboats on the 1st Dec 2018… Straight into the ring of fire (PEAK season). In those first 12 months, we worked sun-up to 10 pm nearly every day (except those few days where we had a baby, Memphis!). We strived to increase the quality of our product and ultimately the experience for you. We pride ourselves in our friendly service, our magnificent boats and this magical region we’re lucky enough to call home.

Riverfun Houseboats acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this nation. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which our company is located and where we conduct our business. We pay our respects to ancestors and Elders, past and present. Riverfun is committed to honouring Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas and their rich contribution to society.

At Riverfun we aim to deliver a memorable experience from first phone call to final mooring through small groups, budget conscience, to large crews and luxe dreams. Our houseboats are the service vessels to your experience on the magnificent Mighty Murray.
