ABOUT US:
I started this little journey late 2020, as a way to ease the stress of our busy day to day lives through being creative, it really was just a small hobby that was backed of my marketing & design background.
We took a major pivot in the 1st quarter of 2022 moving from homewares to my love of boho beyond the home to dresses. Summer, Autumn, Winter & Spring you can pretty much catch me wearing a dress. This has been such a dream to design a comfortable but sexy boho style dress that hugs your curves in all the right spots, can take you from day to night, fit's perfect in all the right places, incorporates colour & of course my love of BLACK.
CREATIONS BY MAX:
Throughout our ranges, you'll come across the Love Max Range. Max, he's the kindest, most well mannered kid you'll find, now I know most parents will say that about their children but those who meet him tell me this too. Max is 7 and been on some wild journeys & endured more pain than a child should. He's always shown empathy beyond his years & will help others before he helps himself. We always knew he was special & recently found out Max suffers from ASD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, he is a perfectionist, suffers from auditory processing disorder & he's an empath, put all of these together you have one very unique & special child who just loves to make others happy, these challenges simply mean he learns differently & nothing more than that. Some of the worlds most talented people suffered these challenges Leonardo da Vinci, Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison & many more. Max has a little saying "good learners make mistakes" and with mistakes he has learnt.
Max's creativity & learning is visual, he was curious & wanted to help, I rarely say no when the kids ask to help so naturally I said yes, so together we got crafting, at the end of the first batch we made together he said "Mum it's so relaxing" and just like that this journey began.
Each sale from our jewellery range helps Max feel valued, makes him see that he is special, that he doesn't need to write algebra in order to be able to learn & be successful.
THE PROCESS:
Max has total control of the creativity process from choosing what colours he wants to put together & what cutters he wants to use. We have one rule of course each group of colours he works with must contain at least a little bit of black. As there are sharp tools involved I am right there with him offering him guidance and direction, it's not to say we both don't get a little bit frustrated with each other at times but together we learn from each other.
The only steps he doesn't do him self is the sealing, placing of the backs on earrings, putting the jewellery on to the cards & the joining of jewellery.
Please take a look in his store page to see what he has created. Please remember he is 7 (almost 8) & slight imperfections make your purchase all that more special.
With prices starting from as little as $4.95.
With the first lot of money from his sales he wants to buy more supplies & keep creating.
WHAT IS MAX LEANING BY THIS...
ONE - Max's focus is hot & cold sometimes he really tries but gets upset quickly & other times he just gives up completely. When he is making things his focus is mostly calm, he focuses for the whole time with many small breaks in between, each lot of creations take him 2-3 hours in total & having focus for that long on one project is unheard of for Max.
TWO - This task takes on a sense of mindfulness for him, where he is aware completely of what he is doing, he is rarely over reactive while doing it, however occasionally the perfectionist in him takes control & his emotions come out but he's quick to react & able to pull himself back together quite quickly.
THREE - It also covers his sensory issues, so the hand work with the clay can offer him a sense of calmness. This side I know very little on so if you can fill in some blanks please shoot me a message I'd love to hear from you.
FOUR - It's helping him greatly with his social skills, however if you have kids that he can meet when he is doing his deliveries or you are picking up please bring them, Max gets on great with adults & younger children however he struggles a lot in environments with kids his own age, so while this might seem simple it's probably in the top 5 challenges to help him overcome
or even just improve on.
FIVE - Reading - This one is HUGE here. With every order I write up the names, address etc & each delivery I ask Max if he can read what it says & what the persons name is, he is learning here without even realising & although this will likely always be a struggle with his dyslexia & dyscalculia he is reading in a short & fun way. One delivery the other day was super cute is was to a Sarah but Max read it as Sahara so super close but that is the world of dyslexia.
