We all love spending time outside, but pesky bugs can quickly ruin your outdoor fun. Our Bug Balm is an all-natural handmade product that contains OLE (Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus also known as Citriodiol), Peppermint and Lavender. The luxurious base Is rich in shea butter and beeswax which help prevent the evaporation of the moisturising essential oils to provide a physical barrier against annoying mozzies, midges and sandflies.
Apply a small amount evenly to exposed areas before venturing outside or as an aftercare balm. Re-apply as often as needed and avoid the eye area. We recommend doing a test patch and if irritation occurs discontinue use. OLE is not recommended for children under 2 years.
What is OLE?
Oil of lemon eucalyptus is a natural, plant-based substance that’s been proven to repel mosquitoes, ticks, and other insects. Commonly confused with lemon eucalyptus essential oil, OLE is extracted from the leaves of lemon eucalyptus trees and enriched for an active ingredient called para-menthane-3,8-diol (PMD), which is the main ingredient in OLE that repels insects. If you’re looking for a safer alternative to DEET, OLE is a great option.
