GRAPE VARIETIES: 100% Meslier
REGION: Single Vineyard located in cooler region of Adelaide Hills at Mount Torrens
SOIL: Area dominated by steep ridges elevating to approximately 530 metres above sea level. Soils mostly formed due to weathered base rock giving rise to sandstone and quartzite clay subsoil.
RAINFALL: 700-940mm mostly between May to October
COLOUR: A small amount of current vintage Cabernet Sauvignon is added to create the attractive pale rosé colour.
BOUQUET: Typically described as “Granny Smith Green Apples” and citrus.
PALATE: Meslier grapes are high in natural acidity. Approximately 10gms acidity at 10o baume when harvested. Aged on yeast lees for 24-36 months and allowed to bottle age for 24 months before release.
Displaying a creamy texture, apple like flavours and balanced racey acidity. With maturity the Meslier Brut Rosé deepens and further rewards in colour and complexity.
