Yumi's Pantry


Yumi’s Pantry specialises in traditional Japanese condiments, such as Miso, ShioKoji and Umami Chilli. All products are hand-made using the traditional and sacred techniques passed down generations, specifically from the region of Nagoya. All products are made using local products.



Miso is the product of soybeans, rice malt, salt and patience. These slowly - fermented soybeans are full of probiotics, amino acids and vitamins that improve your gut health. It is also rich in proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals.



I grew up in Nagano Japan. Every early February at its peak of winter weather, we used to prepare huge amounts of Miso at my grandparent’s house with our neighbours. Enough Miso to last us the whole year, let alone our neighbours and more. My grandparents harvested rice and other vegetables from their farm and produced all kinds of by-products such as Sake, vinegar, and soy sauce. I grew up eating their authentic cooking and loved them. These products are a homage to my younger years and my grandparents, a continuation of our tradition and my memories.
